Day 3 • Free charging

Today we drove from Værløse in Denmark to Schwerin in Germany. 550 kilometers on fast German roads. 6 hours on the road.

First charge was just outside Værløse. This charger should work with cards, but we did not succeed. A kind Tesla owner, who lived in Sweden, started our charging with his charging chip. He just blew our desire to pay him for the power. Can’t remember having experienced that with the petrol car?

Charging just outside Værløse

We stopped later at a Tesla Supercharger. Before leaving home we were very determined not to eat at these hamburger shops you find along the road. Here we failed that principle.

When we returned from McDonalds 40 minutes later, the car was fully charged. Now it is parked in a street here in Schwerin with 117 kilometers left on the battery.

The apartment in Schwerin is lovely and located in the center. The hostess was a bit special and claimed we were bad at communicating. She had sent us a message asking if we arrived before 3pm. We answered that we definitely would not arrive before 3pm. We should have answered with exact arrival time.

We will stay here for three nights.

One small thing. How in hell do i get the ipad to stop changing all English words to something similar Norwegian. Anyone…

Day 2 • Denmark

We have two nights in the sleeping village of Værløse, close to Copenhagen. No driving and no charge today.

However, we managed 15 kilometers by bike in strong winds. It would probably have been a much longer trip if I hadn’t struggled with my mouse arm. We had to buy some painkillers in Værløse center before the return trip. It didn’t help.

Danish bikes

Our host had a nice men’s bike. He had borrowed a bike from a neighbor for Anne. Danes are kind people.

We feel so confident about charging now that we do not bother to charge today. Tomorrow we will test whether we can charge from the stations that are not supplied by Tesla.

Day 1 • No GoPro from Tesla

Day one started with a real downturn. The GoPro cameras from Tesla failed to arrive before we left.

This was closely followed by several connected problems. The video clips from the iPhone, edited in iMovie, could not be uploaded tou Youtube. Error, error, error. I tried 100 times. Also tried to go via Facebook (embedded video) – did not work.

Finally found a solution where I link to video uploaded to Vimeo. It is the solution I am using now.

Otherwise everything went according to plan with 2 charging stops at Tesla charging stations. One stop of 10 minutes and one lunchstop (one hour).

Car parken at the Airbnb

The picture shows the car safely parked at Airbnb in Værløse outside Copenhagen. Here we will be for two nights so it will be a quiet day tomorrow. By the way, the host has just been here with two bikes and asked if we needed a barbecue.
